Tank and Side panels need to be G5 Green.
Leave for three weeks and starts looking a lot better. |
Inside very nasty. Add some low acid 5% should do. |
Inside now looking good so lets start the outside.
Connect a battery charger and a Zink bolt to coat
the tank, Well give it a try. |
It will be a pain to match but I will find a way. |
Off with the Honda badges and start removing old
green paint. |
The original paint is called TQ Ilex
Green Metallic Special. |
I took the tank to Middleton Panels & Paint
in Gloucester |
Mat has mixed up a relay close match, fingers crossed.
First pass looking great.
Looking better and better. |
Filler primer. |
Nice ding in the base just
at the seat line. |
My Home made spray
Booth. |
With these actual decals they react to thinners so I had to use K2 spray from Middleton Panels & Paint.
First clean well |
Spray with soapy water. |
Slowly peel of backing paper pressing out the water. |
Fit Decal in place.
Same with the "preserve nature" sticker. |
Now into my booth for 4 coats of clear coat. |

One lug was broken so a melted washer covered with fibreglass. |
First top coat on 3 more to go. |
Primer on and ready for first top
coat. |
Where did you get the color. Is it the original ilex green?
