Top End Rebuild

After compression testing cylinder one was 65 and two was 80 my thinking is to re grind the valves fit new valve stem oil seals and check the piston rings in the barrels for ware.

New base gasket.

Big ends are fine.

Fit barrels.

Ring to barrel ware was well in tolerance.

Pistons came up nice.

Fit valve clamp (with price sticker )
Position on first valve.

Exhaust valve out.

Start grinding.

Compress inlet valve.

One down three to go.

New stem Oil seals.

What a difference old and new.

All looking just like new.
Drop on the head..

Bolt the cam in the correct orientation

Tighten head bolts slid in the chain tensions.

Fit oil seal, charge reservoirs with oil.

Blue Hermitite the head.

Tighten rocker cover bolts to the correct torq.
Adjust valves, job done.

Compression has gone from 65 on one and 80 on the other to 145 and 160. I feel this will increase with a few miles bedding in.
